An interesting project in which an almost derelict house, orangery and stable block were transformed into luxury Apartments.  Whilst re-roofing the main building care had to be taken as to not disturb the resident bat population.

The successful project received a BANES Building Quality Award.

DJP provided full structural and Civil engineering design services on a number of apartment blocks on the harbour side in Portishead.

Traditional loadbearing masonry type construction formed the contemporary apartments which were supported on insitu reinforced concrete transfer slabs over semi-basement car parking and ground floor restaurant/ retail space. Piled foundations were required in the soft alluvial soils.
